Suggested publishing software

I’ve been using Blogger to publish my personal blog for 6-1/2 years. For a variety of reasons (mostly functionality and reliability), it might be time to change. If readers here have strong opinions over what system I should use, I’m all ears.

  1. Jimmy,

I’ve used Blogger, Moveable Type and WordPress on my blog over the years. WordPress is definitely the way to go — it’s open-source and has a ton of plug-ins you can easily install.

  2. +1 for WordPress – lots of good templates/themes available under free and open licenses as well

  3. Also you can use OpenID for comments, or allow anonymous comments with moderation (and anti-spam plugins).

On here I have to use my “Google/Blogger” id even though I don’t use blogger.
